“Educators in Solidarity is excited to present our bi-annual Cultural Proficiency UnConference on Saturday, October 16th!

The theme of this UnConference is “Teaching Truth to Empower Youth.” Our theme is inspired by current legislative efforts to censor teachers and deny students the opportunities to have truthful conversations in the classroom. As an organization, we also want to focus on honoring student voices and knowledge and push back against the deficit narrative of student “learning loss” this school year.

While we gear up for the Fall UnConference, participants identify topics of interest and we organize sessions accordingly. Sessions will examine strategies for listening to, understanding, supporting, and empowering students, families, and the communities schools serve.”
