Our theme is "Igniting Change: (Re)-Building Our Collective Capacity as Anti-Racist Educators.  In a state where public schools are under attack, the need for inclusive and equitable education is more vital than ever. Our theme, “Igniting Change: (Re)-Building our Collective Capacity as Anti-Racist Educators,” centers our core belief that educators have the collective power to dismantle racist systems and spark transformative changes in our schools that benefit all students, especially those who have been marginalized.

All EIS members, partners, and UnConference presenters are invited to a pre-UnConference happy hour on Friday, October 21st at Down South CaJJun Eats. Seating is outdoors (covered and fanned, if needed). Feel free to come and go between 5:00-8:00. We hope to see you there!

For July, rather than having our regular meeting on Zoom, we will be meeting in person at Phil’s Ice House (http://www.philsicehouse.com/phils-in-north-austinville/) located at 13265 US-183 HWY N, Austin, TX 78750. We will meet at on on our regular date and time, July 10th between 12:30-2:30. Meeting at this location was super successful last summer and there is a playground for anyone with little ones. Please feel free to invite new potential members as well!

We are excited to announce our mini summer virtual professional development event on Monday June 6th from12-4PM. We will offer sessions from our spring UnConference that focus on teacher advocacy, Arts and Creative Collaboration instruction, and so much more! Sessions will be eligible for professional development credit. Registration information will be coming soon.

We will also have an in person outdoor happy hour at 5 PM to debrief about our learning from the day.
